Culture

Art and culture aim to unite.

As Zebrafish International grows, so does its involvement in activities outside its line of business. In the past 3 years of existence, Zebrafish International has contributed significantly to the promotion of Europe's rich and diverse culture as well as fascinating art life.

It is generally accepted that Zebrafish International serves the society in at least four ways. It informs, influences, entertains and contributes to the economic, social and cultural system. The way she performs these functions, however, varies from one to another, according to the philosophy each one holds, according to the audience to which each one commits itself to serve. It is as Pierre Soulage marks " It is what I do teaches me what I am looking for."

Zebrafish International promotion to culture recently touched fields of sculpture, painting and music: This year, she organised an exhibition about a female Belgian sculptor, Marie-André Beeckmans and her culture about sculpture as part of our day-to-day life. Her original clay and bronze works and original plastic figures were featured at Conrad Aspria.

Moreover Zebrafish International has established cultural ties to serving the higher purpose of promoting ever-changing humankind, a task which is becoming more relevant today as the world finds itself in the middle of a process of fast transformation. In short, Zebrafish International commits itself to promoting people of culture in the broadest sense. In 2009 she strenghtened its ties with Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul (MSFAU) Painting and Sculpture Museum, opened a the first public museum of art in Turkey on 20 September 1937 after Atatürk had allocated the Crown Prince Chamber of Dolmabahce Palace to the Fine Arts Academy. Today, it is a great honor for Zebrafish International to cooperate with Prof. Ferit Özsen, the director of MSFAU for promoting MSFAU and his works of sculpture in Brussels. From the field of painting, Zebrafish International highlights in 2010 Zeynep Dilek Cetiner's canvas with unsealed lines. A plan, inverted and reversed volumes, testing the spaces between the axis and rising up with the color spectrum she expresses the prohobitions within the layers of our selaed lives.

Moreover a great discovery at the end of 2009 was marked by Zebrafish International cooperation with Fanny Bériaux, a young Belgian singer with a coloured and warm voice. Born in the world of classical music, she was soon brought into the jazz and soul universe. Today, her voice and her music reflect the influences of Anita O’Day, Madeleine Peyroux, Erikah Badu, Ella Fitzgerald, Cassandra Wilson…Zebrafish International is pleased to have successfully organised Fanny' s first international debut in Istanbul on 29 April 2010.

Like in the business world, many differing philosophies and approaches toward the subject design, as designing often requires a designer to consider the aesthetic, functional, and many other aspects of an object or a process, which usually requires considerable research, thought, modeling, interactive adjustment. With such a broad definition, there is no universal language or unifying institution for designers of all disciplines. However, similarly to what we do as Zebrafish International serious study of information design demands increased focus on the information design process. A successful implementer in this area, Zebrafish International is happy to discover this young talent Jimmy Beyens.

Following the footsteps of admired designers like Christophe Gevers, Jules Wabbes, Jorgen Kastholm, the young Belgian Jimmy Beyens is already making his own way in the exciting design world. www.jimmybeyens.com
